Since 2017 I have been an independent contractor and brand ambassador in the corporate event space. My services include live entertainment by means of writing custom poems for guests on a manual typewriter.
WHAT: Both large and small business organizations hire my services to entertain and write for guests. My services are designed to build loyalty for the organization’s customers, show appreciation to internal staff, and bring awareness and/or value to a company’s overall brand. Whatever the circumstances, my services are a creative activation for guests to interface with and be delighted by.
WHO: Considering the majority of my clients are SaaS companies, I write for many software engineers and developers, which is always rewarding to inspire creative experiences for the highly analytical and pragmatic. However, beyond someone’s professional label is an individual with a unique life experience who I—as a delightfully ignorant stranger—know nothing about.
Who these individuals are when they sit down in front of me is often quite different from who I see after I have written their poem. They are parents and children, dog owners, plant enthusiasts, scuba divers, cake confectioners, iron chefs, ultramarathoners, and the list goes on. The greatest joy is being introduced to someone and writing about the small, or large thing, that makes their soul sing.
WHERE: Below are a sample of my typewritten haiku (a Japanese micro-poem) for clients including Greylock Parters, one of the oldest Venture Capital firms, Benjamin Moore the American manufacturer of premium and commercial paints, founded in 1883, and Hotel Kabuki, a boutique hotel set in Japantown of San Francisco, from JDV by Hyatt.
